June 20 Recap: Derrick Rose to Cavs!~~~ Demar DeRozan Point Guard!!!

hqdefault

Sorry I haven’t posted in a long time but here I am back again. Instead of having multiple posts in a day now I am just going to recap the day before.

So yesterday rumors came out that Derrick Rose and the Cavs were reportedly discussing about a 1 year deal. I first thought that he would eventually sign with the Bucks considering their “mutual interest” but since the Bucks never made another meeting with him so he is still waiting for a team to sign him. But if the Cavaliers do sign him it will be a very strange and peculiar move. Sure you are getting a solid back up, but someone who is ball-dominant. On a team with Kyrie Irving and Lebron James, Derrick Rose is not the best fit. He can’t play along side Kyrie Irving and even when Lebron James is not on the court, he doesn’t give the extra need to the Cavs in order to beat the Warriors. He is not the same MVP Derrick Rose, not as athletic as he was before. Not the same as the Derrick Rose who could use a pick and role to his advantage, not the  explosive one we once saw before. Which is why I feel sad for him. He could have been one of the greats, the best, but injuries cut him short. Imagine what would’ve happened if he didn’t get injured? He would have been an NBA Champion maybe, and right now, he would have been in his prime. Winning an MVP at 22 is amazing, but he could’ve done so much. Imagine him with out his injury, with a 2013-14 Defensive Player of the Year Joakim Noah, even better. They could have been NBA Champions. Maybe if he didn’t get injured he wouldn’t be in the point of his career where at the end of July he is still not signed to a team, and getting talks about him getting a veteran minimum won’t be even thought about.

Dwayne Casey plans to use DeMar DeRozan to get point guard minutes according to Bryan Meyer of Sportsnet. Speaking that DeMar can and will be a facilitator as a point guard and can pass more. He wants Lowry to move the ball also. The real issue for the Raptors in the past few years is that they don’t have the best ball movement. Their game play is more one on one, with either Lowry or DeMar taking the teams shots. DeRozan also showed he was a facilitator in the 20 games Lowry missed to injury, tallying up 4.4 assists, which would’ve been a career best if he had had this the whole season. The Raptors seem to be headed in a better direction now, as they should be able to surround their team with more shooters with a pass-first initiative.

One question here: Should the Celtics sign Isaiah Thomas to a Max Contract. When looking at the article, it really got me thinking because it is a big choice to make. Though we all know that Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas deserves, finishing top 5 in MVP voting and earning a spot on the All-NBA Second Team. He even knows that too. Though giving him the max will mean that they can’t be looking for free-agents next year, they won’t have too much cap space. With a Gordon Hayward and Al Horford max already their, Thomas may not be getting the money. But isn’t this all lined up for a max? The Celtics traded their first overall pick who was going to be Markelle Fultz because they already had Isaiah, and it looks like it’s just going to be him at point for the future. Then they trade Avery Bradley and his huge salary for Marcus Morris. So it looks like the Celtics are going to do it. On the other hand, the real question is should they, and how will it impact their future. Because remember, the Celtics are targeting Anthony Davis if the Pelicans season takes the wrong turn.

Doc Rivers just took shots at Chris Paul, saying that him leaving allows the team to “have ball movement.” It is clear that Paul is a ball-dominant star but come on. Rivers was just being salty. Ball-movement is important but winning is more, and they clearly aren’t doing as much with the departure of Chris Paul. And Chris Paul definitely doesn’t like him, even before the trade. Many rumors speculated players weren’t happy with him because of his son Austin, who is supposed to be “the best” because he is the coaches son. Even Glen Davis (former Clipper) had some beef with him recently. People say Austin gets lots of money because of his dad, gets lots of minutes because of his dad, and struts around the locker room because he is the coaches son.

That’s it for today. Sorry I put this up late. Hope you enjoyed. 🙂 BYE

Iguodala Signs with the Warriors

andre-iguodala-51617-usnews-getty-ftr_1297gw6fqqkv212xh97ji5lv8h

The Warriors are just so lucky to keep both of their top bench players in Iguodala and Livingston. Honestly, I thought both of them will leave. Though I guess they want to win, and I don’t blame them for that. Iguodala signed a 3 year, 48 million dollar deal. He definitely would’ve got payed much more. When asked about his decision to staying with the Warriors it was his son, who cried when he was choosing to sign with the other team. Warriors fans, thank his kid for Iguodala staying. That’s it for now. Hope you enjoyed. 🙂 PEACE

Analysis of the Paul George Trade

4rBeENHe_400x400.jpg

This off season is the craziest we have ever seen. So many moves and trades to get star players to compete with the Warriors. And this trade, was just amazing. This was a definite win for the Thunder and a loss for the Pacers. Even though the Pacers got a nice starter in Victor Oladipo and a promising rookie in Domantas Sabonis we are talking about Paul George. How do the Pacers trade Paul George for those two players.  To see what I mean, last year in the off season, the Thunder traded Serge Ibaka for Victor Oladipo and the 11th pick in the draft which turned out to be Domantas Sabonis. That means they basically traded Serge Ibaka for Paul George, which is a 100% loss for the Pacers. What’s even more sad for the Pacers is that the Boston Celtics reportedly tried to trade them LAL/SAC pick from PHI, the 2019 Memphis or Clippers pick, and Jae Crowder. A much better trade for the Pacers that will allow them to start the rebuild. But then again, other reports said that the Celtics never actually made a final offer for George. Which some fans should be kinda mad at.

But this season for the Thunder is going to be amazing. I know you might be saying that both Russell and George are ball-dominant, but it’s not like they aren’t going to get the ball at all. What do you expect Billy Donovan to do for the rest of the off season, just sit around and wait for the season start so they can “do their thing.” They will find a way to work together. And like when Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant were together in OKC they did just fine. But one thing that makes Paul George a better fit than Kevin Durant is that he plays catch and shoot, too. Unlike KD he doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make plays. Whereas Kevin Durant can’t really do anything else with the ball out of his hands. And now, when Westbrook sits out, the offense and defense won’t struggle because they have the ultimate two-way explosive player in Paul George. He can lead the offense and can have the ball in his hands when he needs to. He can make his own plays and shots and can pass the ball. Next year we will be seeing much more from the Thunder. I believe that the Thunder will always have Westbrook or George on the court at all times. Maybe like 24 minutes together and 12 and 12 by themselves.

For the Thunder as an organization they just need one more player and a few moves to be a contender. Because the West has lots of competition. The top four teams have amazing players: KD and Steph for the Warriors, Kawhi and Aldridge for the Spurs, Paul and Harden for the Rockets, and Westbrook and George for the Thunder. The Thunder have to show that they can win with George and surround him and Westbrook with more players before the end of next season, otherwise he’ll sign with the Lakers.

That’s it for now. Hope you enjoyed. 🙂 PEACE

Paul George TRADED to the Thunder!

kevin-durants-injury-could-have-a-212-million-ramification-for-paul-george-and-the-pacers

The news just came out one minute ago. Oh GEEZ! PAUL GEORGE TO THE THUNDER. I didn’t expect it at all. For like Victor Oladipo and this other guy. I just want to get the news out the first. Russell Westbrook is definitely trying to get back at Durant when the Warriors play the Thunder next year. Okay he was traded for Domantas Sabonis. My gosh. I will get more details later but for now…wow.

Wolves Trade Ricky Rubio for Draft Pick

rubio_3nep3wytn6b81vmadwdnb8bq6.jpg

Wow. Trading Rubio must mean that they are looking to sign another point guard in free agency, as the Utah Jazz acquire the 26 year old for a top-14 protected draft pick. I’m not sure what year that draft pick is in though. In one of my previous posts I told you that the Wolves were looking to sign a point guard in free agency. Having a list of Kyle Lowry, Jrue Holiday, George Hill, and Jeff Teague. Looking at this trade I’m assuming George Hill is going to be leaving the Jazz and signing with another team, maybe even the Wolves. Though really if he would go to the Wolves the Jazz should’ve offered to trade him and put him in the trade. Because now you are just really letting him go. Maybe the Wolves knew they were going to get him in free agency and decided not to trade to get him. Because I guess both teams could work out a George Hill for Ricky Rubio trade. Both teams would kind of lose, and win, because the Jazz will get a young player entering his prime, maybe to coax Gordon Hayward to stay, but a horrible shooter and a bigger salary. The Wolves will get a nice shooter in George Hill and could sign him for less, because he is 31, which is also a bad thing. He doesn’t really fit the age group of the team, which is supposed to be young, and supposed to be taking over the league in a few years. I guess the Wolves were looking to take off some cap space before free agency starts at 12 tonight. I’m almost certain by this move the Wolves are going to be looking to sign a point guard to fill in for Rubio. A good ball handler and passer and shooter to play along side KAT, Andrew Wiggins, and Jimmy Butler. That’s it for now. Hope you enjoyed. 🙂 PEACE

I know I didn’t post yesterday and it was because I had no time, and to be honest nothing much happened at all. Sorry.

How the Cavaliers are so close to Competing with the Golden State Warriors

NBA: Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers

Most recently, a report came out saying that the Cavaliers were trying to acquire both Paul George and Carmelo Anthony in a 5 team trade. Wow. More than just thinking about Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, I just thought wow, a 5 team trade, not something you hear everyday. Stupid, right? The teams reportedly in this trade were the Knicks, Pacers, Nuggets, and Phoenix. I’m guessing Kevin Love will be tossed from the Cavaliers to probably the Nuggets. Phoenix will probably give Eric Bledsoe away, though I don’t know to the Pacers or Knicks. But I will guess the Knicks because I think the Pacers are just going to receive some young players and draft picks from the other teams. Though the talks didn’t really continue from there but the Cavaliers do have a chance.

And if this trade goes down, or the Cavaliers do receive Paul George, man will the commissioner will be laughed at. As he says that he doesn’t think the league is ruled by just two teams in the Cavaliers and Warriors. Honestly even though we have been a few weeks into the off season it has been more exciting than the regular season and playoffs. And when free agency starts man oh man is all the stuff going to come at me to post. So many teams will be trying to compete with the Warriors and Cavaliers. The NBA has turned into this race to see who gets who before who. Or which team will get bla before bla gets to go to the other team with bla. I’m not sure whether the battle of the super teams ever stop. Even though there aren’t any others other than the Warriors everyone is scavenging for them.

Okay now I’m getting off topic. Back to the Cavaliers. This off season almost determines if the Cavaliers will win a championship or not. They need to make a move. Lebron is 33, even though he shows no signs of slowing down doesn’t mean he can’t take too much of the load. Kyrie has shown us that he can’t score without Lebron. And if Kyrie gets on fire, Lebron won’t pass it to him. Both players have their very own special style of play and it doesn’t go too well together. That’s why it isn’t good that Kyrie needs Lebron all the time. Getting Paul George means a lot more. Getting Paul George means that Lebron doesn’t have to play a full 48 minutes against the Warriors. Getting Paul George means that Kyrie won’t need Lebron by his side to score. Because really, Kyrie can only score if another star can draw some of the attention off him so he could go 1-on-1 and face off against the defender which is a piece of cake for him. Paul George is a really good fit for the Cavaliers. They could slide Lebron over to the four, because he is big and strong and really does the dirty work all game. The Cavaliers won’t even lose their floor spacing acquiring Paul George. Not only this, but sources close to Paul George states that George would resign with Cleveland if he gets traded over there, and if Lebron stays there too. So this is already looking amazing. Though the Cavaliers will have one weakness playing against the Warriors. Their bench.

Okay, there bench is the trash, just trash. All the “okay”(not that trash but trash)  people on the bench are Iman Shumpert (who can only play defense), Deron Williams (old), Richard Jefferson (90 years old), and maybe Derrick Williams. But have you even heard of Larry Sanders? How many times have you seen James Jones play? One exception in Kyle Korver, but he is 36, can he still compete with the Warriors bench? Then after them there is bunch of trash people on the roster. While the Warriors have Iguodala (at least for now), Ian Clark (a nice outside shooter), Shaun Livingston (arguably one of the best backup point guards in the league), Patrick McCaw (a rising star), Javale McGee (who should definitely be starting over Zaza), and the GOAT James Michael McAdoo. Even if some of the players leave I know Steve Kerr will find a way to lure young talent to the roster.

The Cavaliers need to sign players who are young and show talent. Lebron could be a great mentor for a small forward, and Kyrie could show a young point guard his ways. The Cavaliers still need to play their cards correctly. They just need that one superstar to compete with the Warriors. And if that does happen and they land Paul George….RIP NBA 2017-2021

That’s it for today. I know this was longer but I was just in a good mood. Hope you enjoyed. 🙂 PEACE

NBA Rumors: Paul George Would Be ‘Open’ To Re-Signing With Cavs

Chris Paul Traded to the Houston Rockets

chris_paul_in_a_rockets_jersey_by_ssp0929-d4idr3y.png

Chris Paul. Arguably the best, if not best play maker in the league. Paired up with also one of the best, if not best play makers in the league in James Harden. Deadly. Lethal. They are going to destroy teams next year. This trade featured of course, Chris Paul, while the Rockets are giving Patrick Beverly, Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, DeAndre Liggins, Darrun Hilliard, Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Wiltjer, and a 2018 top-3 protected pick for Paul alone. This is the 2nd blockbuster trade in the off season so far. This is what the Rockets are doing to compete with the Warriors, and they will compete. And I think it is going to be a hard-fought series in the playoffs next year (Yes. I’m thinking that they will both play in the Western Conference Finals). This offense is going to be spectacular. Just seeing James Harden and the Rockets take the court last year was amazing. Now imagine them having future Hall of Famer Chris Paul on that team. They are going to have some HIGH scoring games. Not only this but the Rockets will have a proven defender in Chris Paul on the team. This trade was smart for both the Rockets and Clippers.

Well first of all, the Rockets got Chris Paul, who I just talked about. So let me get in depth with the Clippers. The Clippers knew that they had to trade Chris Paul, because reportedly, he told that once being an unrestricted free agent next year, he would sign with the Rockets. So why waste a season winning and getting a lower draft pick with Chris Paul, and letting him go for nothing, rather than start rebuilding and trade Chris Paul for all these young players. They will have a bad season, but it is okay. I talked about this in one of my previous posts using Paul George. Because same goes for the Pacers, too. I definitely think this is a win-win situation. Rockets can compete with the Warriors NOW, while the Clippers get young assets and a pick to start a rebuild.

Now I’ve been thinking about this, but I guess I’ll start making shorter posts like these. I could give you all the information in not a long 800 word post. Oh, and I won’t be posting at all from Saturday to Monday, but hopefully nothing too much happens so I won’t have to recap everything on Tuesday.

That’s it for now. Hope you enjoyed. 🙂 PEACE

Phil Jackson parts ways with the New York Knicks

phil-jackson.jpg

YES. Even people who don’t like the Knicks much should be happy. And as for you Knicks fans, you should be relieved. 3 years of confusion and mistakes for Mr. Jackson. The only good thing he did was drafting Porzingis, and he was even looking to trade him. He also wasn’t on nice terms with their star, Carmelo Anthony. If the Knicks didn’t fire him, imagine what he would have done. Phil clearly couldn’t build a team, he needed players around him so he could improve. He had an aging Carmelo (who would be good if he didn’t hate him so much), and signed two people who were good long before then (Rose and Noah). James Dolan is really the Knicks savior, but really, there wasn’t much of an option at all. All the things leading up to the firing of him looked scary for the Knicks. So many trade rumors, talks, trades that were almost about to go down. The Knicks fans didn’t really deserve the last few years which were trash. I know this was short but I have nothing else to say. That’s it for now. Hope you enjoyed 🙂 PEACE

Celtics Trying to Land Paul George and Gordon Hayward

kevin-durants-injury-could-have-a-212-million-ramification-for-paul-george-and-the-pacers

Celtics, looking for the extra piece to get to the Finals, are looking to get Paul George AND Gordon Hayward. You may have seen my first post, where I talked about how the Celtics might not trade for anyone. Though I think it seems like a better FUTURE if they don’t trade for any big names. But I guess the Celtics want to win now, and they can do that if they want to. Anyways, getting into the juice, the Celtics I guess want to get Paul George back to winning. And they are hoping that he will like Brad Stevens’ system. And for the Pacers they are wanting future picks and young players, which the Celtics most definitely have. Though league sources say that Indiana is commited and looking to trade Paul George to the Celtics. The trade was about to go down on draft night but they couldn’t find a third team in the trade. League sources also stated that the Celtics have lots of confidence that they could sign Paul George, making him avoid the Lakers.

Gordon Hayward is going to be a free agent this Saturday, and the Celtics are already preparing, salary shaving. Gordon showed many signs this year that he might leave. Most significantly, the picture his wife posted on Instagram, I believe one month ago, of her holding their baby girl, who was wearing a shirt with a 4 leaf clover, in the white and green colors.  Gordon Hayward does have a scheduled meeting with the Celtics, too.

If both of these superstars do come on the Celtics, man. This is going to be a hard time in the NBA. Only like 3 super teams governing the league, which will create more super teams, and it won’t stop.

That’s it for today. Sorry I don’t have too much time on my hands now. Hope you enjoyed. 🙂 PEACE

Iguodala Receiving Many Offers from Teams

02ARATON-master768-v2

After seeing how many offers teams have given to Iggy, looks like the teams are trying to dismantle the Warriors. Iguodala, though only averaging 7.6 points in the regular season, he showed up in the playoffs for the Warriors, like always. I was expecting this to happen for Iggy, because before he came to the Warriors, he was a solid starter, and had amazing games. Though he is still pretty old, he can still compete and be a successful starter. And if the Warriors lose him, they better hope Patrick McCaw steps up this season. If the Warriors wanted to keep him, Kevin Durant must agree to a contract without bird rights, so they don’t have to go over the salary cap to sign him (KD).

“The Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz are among the teams interested in the 2015 NBA Finals MVP, sources tell ESPN.”

That’s a lot of teams, but sources have said that it is unknown if Iguodala is going to attend their meetings. Most of these teams are looking for a new start, or are young teams looking for a veteran to guide them to the playoffs. The Minnesota looks like a nice spot. He’ll be a good backup to Wiggins, and Butler, as he can excel offensively. San Antonio will get a solid pickup acquiring Iggy, so he could be a good backup for Kawhi. LA looks like they need a fresh start, because Chris Paul and Blake Griffin aren’t going to win with them. Some talks have been that Chris Paul and Iggy can come together as a combo as LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green are reportedly up on the trade block. Now Philly is another young team looking for a veteran to lead their way. Iguodala has playoff experience and knows how to play in the playoffs. He will definitely help the Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and no. 1 pick Markelle Fultz improve. Orlando. We don’t exactly know where they are headed, but Jonathan Isaac might be the new franchise player. Orlando needs some sort of proven player who is going to put up numbers and show the rest of the team how it’s done. Brooklyn is just on a rebuild. They have a young promising player in D’Angelo Russell, but really no one else. No one else to look for when you think of the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn has to stop being the laughing-stock of the league, they need a big-name player, so it just doesn’t look like they suck. Utah has a questionable future. You’re not sure exactly if Gordon Hayward is going to stay or go to the Celtics. Maybe a guy like Iggy can be a short-term thing just to fill in for Hayward. He won’t put up the same numbers but will buy Utah some time to find someone new. That’s it for now. Hope you enjoyed. 🙂 PEACE
